Joseph Morgan (CW’s The Vampire Diaries, The Originals) stars in Warhouse as a Royal Marine who awakens imprisoned and is forced to fight to the death against inhuman opponents again and again. XLrator will release the psychological thriller later this year. Director Luke Massey co-wrote the pic with producer Benjamin Read. Gordon and Lea Flome of XLrator Media and Jason Moring of Double Dutch International negotiated the deal.

If it feels like it is Joseph Morgan Month, that’s because it pretty much is. Not only does his handsome face adorn the month of April in the official 2013 Vampire Diaries calendar, but also XLrator Media has acquired the rights to his movie Warhouse and the film he directed (Revelation starring Persia White) has been accepted into the New York City International Film Festival. And the biggest reason to dub April 2013 as Mister Morgan’s shining moment? The backdoor pilot to TVD’s highly-anticipated spin-off series — The Originals — airs on Thursday (April 25th) on The CW, and we have all the juicy details on what’s coming up for Klaus, Rebekah, and Elijah when they relocate to New Orleans.

Tune in to our exclusive interview with Joseph below!

Alloy Entertainment: Congrats on the pilot! On a scale of one to ten fangs, how wicked does Klaus get in the Big Easy?
Joseph Morgan: Now do you mean ‘wicked’ in my English sense of the word or ‘wicked’ as in how evil does he get?

Alloy Entertainment: Ha! Let’s stick to “evil” for the time being.
Joseph Morgan: (Laughs) Oh, man. That’s interesting. I haven’t been asked that before. And, for certain reasons which will become very clear when you watch the episode, I think that he makes some of the most evil choices he has ever made — certainly one of them. Given the circumstances he’s presented with, he is psychologically and emotionally more evil than we’ve ever seen him. (Pauses) But then he should be, shouldn’t he? I mean, this is a supernatural show here. We have to raise the stakes and go as far as we can. (Laughs) But yea, hes absolutely taking no prisoners in that sense.

When we spoke with “Vampire Diaries” star Joseph Morgan a couple months ago about his upcoming turn as the lead of the spinoff “The Originals,” he admitted he was a little bit nervous.

“I have to just take a chance on it,” he told us then. “I am putting myself out there a bit, and I am a bit concerned, because I really want it to be a success, and I want to continue exploring this character. That worry comes with the job, doesn’t it, really?”

These days, the worry has been replaced by anticipation. The backdoor pilot for the new show will air as an episode of “The Vampire Diaries” on Thursday, April 25. We spoke with Morgan on Tuesday about what fans can expect from “The Originals” — a more adult tone, a lasting connection with Caroline, compelling new characters, and, of course, “one of the most disgusting emotional choices we’ve ever seen him make.”

Check out our Q&A with Morgan below and don’t miss the episode this Thursday at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
